Some say I like to feed people. Some say I like to bake. I love to do both.
I enjoy boxing up the desserts, tying it with a ribbon and giving them out.
When people ask what the occassion is, I tell them "Happy Thursday" - or
whatever the day of the week it is. The reward: Smiles

I've wanted to open up a dessert bar for several years now and had not
found the time to do so, until the comments over my creations and the
urges to opening up a dessert bar left me with no more excuses.

Thank you to all my friends and family for the push. Its been a year since
I've started the process and I appreciate your support for making it
  happen.

  • put a smile on someones face with a "just because" gift of sweets
  • stop by and fulfill that craving
  • hang out and meet new people
  • use it as a place to study
  • stop in to say hello
  • reward your employees or treat your co-workers

Thank you to those who came by on grand opening day. I know it was pretty
hectic that night as we were trying to get out over 800 cupcakes for everyone
to sample. The mixers and oven were on as we baked fresh and it did get
pretty loud. Now that we are on a daily routine of baking fresh every morning,
our oven and mixers are scheduled to run before we open and only for a few
minutes during store hours if we get a special order. But again, thank you
to all that came and showed their support.

Things are finally starting to take shape. There are a few minor things we still
need to tend to - wall decco (featuring local artists), the constantly developing
menu, and the phone company delaying us with wi-fi, but since then, we
have worked out a major kink that was tying us down.

I have received many comments from customers of how much they enjoy the
desserts we serve. They say they really like the frosting - not too sweet and
thick like other places. They enjoy the idea of being able to fulfill their craving
of several different flavors at a time since the portions are the perfect size.
Our six pack is the most popular.

We have recieved many online comments. They are mixed opinion's regarding how we should "look" and "how our desserts should be served". For those that think we should look and taste more like the other trendy cupcake places, we would like to list several factors of why we are not like the other places.

1. The desserts are made the way they are due to years of "trying" out what appeals to the eyes and taste buds of friends, family and of course, paying customers. The shop was created out of an original ideal, not one that competes with the trendy cupcake stores. These desserts give customers an option that had never been available to them before. Many customers enjoy our desserts as we sell hundreds of desserts a day. However, the hearts of a handful of other customers may still belong to another cupcake store. Thats alright, too!

2. A lease agreement was made on the limitations of the type of desserts we are allowed to make and sell. In order for two similar businesses to thrive on the block, we are limited to less items of gourmet quality. We leave that to the other store. We cater to those that want to snack on some sweets while they hang out and play a game of scrabble or chat with their friends. Its a place for those who want to study (other than their home or library) where they can get a dessert and drink for the same price you would pay for 1 coffee drink from another store. We also offer 12 and 24 packs for parties (as an alternative to a cake) and meetings (as an alternative to bagels and doughnuts) for reasonable prices.

3. Many ask why the dessert display looks limited and is not set out in display cases. We currently have over 25 items (including the drinks) available everyday. Its actually quite hard choosing an item if you don't already have a favorite. Since our opening, we have sampled out different recipies, received comments and plan to have them put on the permanent menu. Be on the lookout for new items and cupcake flavors. We do not have a display case because that means your desserts would have been pre-made sitting there for who knows how long. We frost your desserts when you order them so that it does't dry out while waiting to be purchased. You can also call in an order for quick pick up (562) 430-1800.

We would like to give a warm thank you to our repeat customers who know best when it comes to their own taste buds.

Don't forget to pre-order packs for your holiday
parties and as presents for family, friends
and neighbors.
